Virginia Valenze

PRESIDENT

Virginia (Ginny) Valenze joined Eisai as Director of
Advocacy and Associations in October 2009, where she leads the patient
advocacy initiatives for the oncology therapeutic area. She came to Eisai from
Roche, where she was US Director of Public Affairs & Patient Advocacy. Prior to
Roche, Ms. Valenze was Global Senior Manager of Advocacy Development &
Public Relations in Oncology for Pharmacia (now Pfizer).

With more than 25 years in public affairs, advocacy development, corporate
communications and global marketing, Ms. Valenze’s previous experience includes
senior management positions in financial services, consumer goods and sports
marketing for Fortune 100 companies including American Express, Dun &
Bradstreet and Sports Illustrated (Time Inc). Additionally, Ms. Valenze has held
public information positions for state governors in New York and Colorado, as well
as the NY State Olympic Authority and interstate non-profit governors’ associations.
She has taught numerous courses in public relations, sponsorship/event marketing
and communications at several universities as adjunct faculty.

Ms. Valenze has held board of director positions for a variety of
organizations, including the International Association of Business Communicators,
and was named one of the Top Young Women Executives in New York.
Throughout her career, Ms. Valenze has been a strong supporter, advisor and key
advocate of numerous patient advocacy organizations and developed a passion for
ensuring patient access to innovative therapies, having lost her sister, mother and
father to cancer.

She is currently President of the Board of Trustees for the North Jersey Komen for
the Cure.

A native of Plattsburgh, New York, Ms. Valenze received her bachelor’s
degree from Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY), and has done postgraduate
work at the University of Colorado. While studying for her degree, she
was a park ranger and tour guide in Yellowstone National Park. She resides in
New Jersey.
