Kathleen Hubert-McKenna

Co-Founder

Kathleen Hubert-McKenna is the Co-Founder of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, North Jersey Affiliate, and an active volunteer in changing the face of health care for causes that are personal and important to her.  She played a key role in the establishment of the Affiliate in 1996, as a member of the organizing committee, and then in developing the infrastructure and organization of North Jersey.  She also served as a member of the Management Team, which helped to set and implement the strategic direction of the Affiliate and implemented its key initiatives.

In 1998, working closely with Mary Hess, Grants Coordinator, Kathy was named the Grants Manager, and assumed responsibility for all aspects of the administration of the grants program.  In this role, she oversaw the distribution of approximately $10 million in grants to various organizations serving the underserved and underinsured in its nine county service area.  She, along with Mary Hess, established a grants team to ensure the most effective use of the funds in the service area.  Working with the grants team, she helped to enhance the national model for the grants process, and introduced a technical assistance workshop for existing and potential grantees.  The grants process was recognized by National as a model program amongst the affiliate network.
