Spread the Komen life saving message that “Mammograms Save Lives” and help end breast cancer forever during the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by placing six-foot long, hot pink ribbons on trees in your town throughout northern New Jersey from October 1^st through October 31^st. The trees represent life and the pink ribbons represent action, awareness, survivorship and the memory of those who have lost their battle. 

Take ACTION by getting screened and pledging to get five friends to schedule a mammogram

• Spreading Your Tie a Ribbon Campaign Via Social Media 
• Letter to the Mayor
  Obtain permission from the mayor as soon as possible.  You may not tie ribbons unless you have permission from the mayor.
• Press Release
• Save the Date Cards
  Recruit volunteers by distributing Save the Date Cards throughout your community.  Download the cards and enter the appropriate date, time, and location for your Tie a Ribbon Kickoff.
• Town Proclamation
• Incorporate the Passionately Pink Program 
• Volunteer Waiver and Release
  Have every volunteer participating in your Tie a Ribbon campaign complete the Volunteer Waiver and Release.  Submit the completed waivers to Collen Miller by mail to 785 Springfield Ave. Summit, NJ 07901 or by email at cmiller@komennorthjersey.org.
