Community Grant applications are accepted once a year as indicated above.
When available, the North Jersey Affiliate considers Small Grant and Travel Scholarship Grant applications throughout the year. Organizations are limited to one (1) travel scholarship per fiscal year of the North Jersey Affiliate.
The North Jersey Affiliate’s Grant Program is dedicated to providing equal access to quality breast health care for all. The Norh Jersey Affiliate service area comprises nine counties: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren.
Seventy-five percent of net funds raised by the Affiliate remains in the North Jersey service area to support community-based breast health programs focusing on the medically underserved and uninsured populations. Since its inception in 1997, the North Jersey Affiliate has awarded over $13.5 million in grants to more than fifty different organizations.
The remaining twenty-five percent is contributed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program. As of 3/31/11, the Affiliate has contributed $5.9 million to this Program.
