Answers
- The Race is a non-competitive 5K run that starts at 8:45, followed by a 5K walk at 9:00 and a 1.5K Walk at 9:15.
- The Race costs $25.00 if you register online by January 31st. Afterwards, the cost to register is $30.00. Paper registrations will cost $30.00. An additional fee of $10.00 will be applied if you want your t-shirt and bib sent to you in advance. Same day registration is $35.00. Sleep in for the Cure is $40.00 and that includes shipping and handling of the Race Day t-shirt. We are trying to keep our expenses down and at the same time be sensitive to the environment so, if at all possible, register online.
- You are only required to pay the registration fee but we encourage all participants to raise as much money as possible to help find the cures for breast cancer. Your registration fee helps to defray the cost of producing the Race. It does not provide any contribution to the Komen North Jersey Affiliate. There are prizes awarded to those individuals who raise additional funds through donations/pledges Click here to view the pledging levels and prizes associated with each level.
- The Race will take place rain or shine. The North Jersey Affiliate reserves the right to cancel the Race in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be NO refunds issued and entry forms will be used as donations to the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
- Volunteering is the essence of our Affiliate. There are opportunities to help out in pre-race preparations. Opportunities are available for those who have time during the day, evening or weekends with a variety of skill levels. Please click here to view specific Race needs.

- Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in either the 5K Run/Walk or 1.5K Fun Walk as long as they are able to complete the course. The waiver MUST be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Individuals with children and toddlers are encouraged to participate in the 1.5k fun run/walk begin after all of the other runners and or walkers have already left the start line.
- No roller skating, in-line skating or bicycles are allowed on the course.
- No pets are allowed on the course but they can be brought into the park. They must be on a leash at all times and with their owner.
- The course is wheelchair accessible. The exposition area and survivor tents are on the grass and have some small slopes but it is possible to use a wheelchair. Additionally, one bus from Montclair State is wheelchair accessible.
- There are many travel options available for you to use on Race Day.
NJ Transit and the Light Rail, Park and Ride from Bloomfield and Paramus and
driving to Newark and parking at one of the designated facilities.

- Yes, your t-shirt and bib can be mailed to you for an additional $10.00. This must be determined at time of registration. There are also several other options for you to pick up your t-shirt and bib. Please click here for pick-up locations in your area.

- Yes, you can pick up your t-shirt on Race day at the T-Shirt and Bib tent. Survivor shirts and caps as well as Race day shirts will also be available

- The Race is not competitive. There will be clocks along the route and at the finish line. All competitive runners must come to the front of the line and begin the Race first. There are awards and acknowledgements for those individuals who place first and second. Click here to view individual awards.
- In memory of and in honor of back signs are available at the Survivor, Registration, Pledge/Donation, Information and Team T-Shirt Pick Up tents. Please write your sentiment on the card and place it on the back of your shirt.

Computer/Web Related FAQ’s
- Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Click here to find your password. You will receive an e-mail with your username and password. If you still have problems, please contact us at cure@komennorthjersey.org for help.
- First, login to the site using your username and password. Once logged in you will see a link at the top of the page called "Update My Profile." Once in your profile, you will be able to change your contact information, e-mail address, username and password. All changes will be made to your account immediately. There is no need to sign in again.
- A personal page is an online promotional tool for your use when asking your friends and family to join your team or sponsor you by making a donation. Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you. You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your participant center. You will be able to customize images, text and the style/color layout of the page.
- Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you. A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters. While you can spread the word using customized e-mail solicitations, your personal campaign page can be your own creative expression of your commitment to the cause. Customize your page by selecting the layout and style that work best for you. Utilize the elements of text, photo and status indicators to their fullest advantage.
- First, you will need to login to your participant center. On the bottom right side of the participant center home page is the location to modify your personal fundraising goal. Enter your new goal and submit the changes.
- Only the team captain has the ability to change the team name or team division. The team captain will need to login to his/her participant center and click the "My Team Progress" button on the top right. On the Team Progress Page, team captains will have the ability to update the team name, division and goal.
- Login to the site using your Username and Password. Go to your Participant Center and click the "my progress" tab; this will allow you to view your donor list and any amounts having been donated.

- Simply go to your Participant Center and click the "Update Message to Team" button. This will allow you to make all necessary changes to your team message.
- By default, a personal page is Public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list, and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you. Setting your personal page to Private means your name will not appear in the participant search list, and only people you personally invite will be able to support you.
- If you are registering on a computer that someone else has already registered on, you will need to log off the system. On the side bar, on the left side of the page you will find a Logout Button. To log off the system, click on the Logout button and then register again.
