Race Day Highlights

WALK with us. RUN with us.
HAVE FUN with us!

Join us on Sunday, May 6th for the
2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!

Our Race Day is not just about running, or walking.  It’s about raising money (of course!), but it’s also about getting out with your friends and family and having a blast of a day for a good cause! Here’s the line-up of FUN that we have planned to fill your “feel good” day with good times and good memories.

Pat Battle, NBC4’s Reporter and Co-Anchor for “Weekend Today in New York” will serve as the official Survivor Ambassador at the Affiliate’s fifth annual Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure® on Sunday, May 6th.

A breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed in the Fall of 2010, Ms. Battle is passionately committed to raising awareness about the importance of early detection. In a courageous move, she publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer during her annual mammography. To emphasize the importance of all women being diligent about getting annual screening exams, she bravely documented the details, both physical and emotional, of her own personal breast cancer experience, including a very detailed visual account of the very day that she underwent a lumpectomy at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. NBC New York aired the video of her experience on October 30, 2010. watch the video   read story
