Testimonials from Race Participants

Great job!!!! Pleasure to work with u!!!!! Thanks for all ur help advice and work u should be proud of all ur accomplishments

Today was an incredible day.  I met some incredible women on my walk.  What's next?

Let me start by saying what a pleasure it is and was to work under your leadership.  The Race enjoyed its success, because of the time, effort and endless hours you endured to make it perfect! Even with the inclement weather, the crowds roared in and the numbers were achieved. You must feel very proud and rightfully so. Yes, it takes a squad team, but can only be accomplished with quite, steady leadership skills and your tool belt is well prepared.

Yesterday, I ran in my very first 5 K race.  I didn't know what to expect, to be very honest with you.  I had been training along with my sister and sister-in-law to run for about 6 weeks.

As a woman whose body is not built as a runner, this was a big challenge for me.  I took great pride in each step I ran to prepare my body to participate yesterday.  I knew I was ready physically, but what I was not ready for was fighting back tears as I took each step of the run.

Last year, right around this time, my family was celebrating the recent engagement of the youngest in our family, my brother, Brian.  We were very excited to be welcoming another sister into our family.  A young woman with whom we had become very close to, along with her family... and then we all got a call...

Our soon to be sister-in-law's mother found a lump in her breast.  The news was devastating.  It was so difficult to watch my little brother and his soon-to-be wife, people who were suppose to celebrating life and happiness as they planned for their big day, in such pain.  It was so difficult to watch my sister-in-law's family, especially her mother, deal with breast cancer.

In the span of a year, yesterday was the first time I felt like what I was doing in some small way was helping to take the pain away.  To see survivors running and walking and the inspiration and everyone who came out despite the weather...  the rain came down as tears of joy and happiness came down over my face as well.

I can't thank you enough for organizing the event yesterday.  You continually thanked each of us for running and participating, but I wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU for your dedication to such a worthy cause.
