Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. The North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is proud to have provided community grant funding to the North Jersey Chapter of the Young Survival Coalition.

A breast cancer diagnosis can bring tremendous challenges and urgent questions. YSC’s Newly Diagnosed Resource Kits (NDRKs) help young women face those challenges with confidence. Packed with information and local resources for the newly diagnosed, these kits help fight the feelings of fear and isolation that can accompany a diagnosis—so that young women feel connected, supported and hopeful.

Young women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer—or their caregivers—can order an NDRK online or by contacting your local YSC affiliate. YSC also distribute the kits across the US at participating hospitals and cancer centers.

Do you know a woman currently undergoing Chemo for Breast cancer? Please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. http://www.cleaningforareason.org. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women.
The following is a list of facilities that provide wigs and prosthesis for those facing breast cancer. This list is not meant to represent all of the providers in the North Jersey service area, nor does the Komen North Jersey Affiliate endorse any of these providers.
A regional office of CancerCare, a national nonprofit organization that provides free professional Support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved. Programs including counseling, education, and practical help are provided by Professional oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. CancerCare provides limited Financial grants to eligible individuals and families for transportaion, home care, child care and pain medication. Assistance is also available for breast cancer patients who need help with the costs of oral medication lumphedema supplies. This office serves the entire state of New Jersey.
The Tiger Lily Foundation offers a "Funds for Families" program which if eligible may provide payment for phone bills, PSE&G bills for Breast Cancer Patients under the age of 40.
